AGENCY: Rp3
ROLE: Freelance Copywriter
PROJECT: TV Concepts
ASSIGNMENT: Concept a television spot for Leap Year. The #DoNothingDay video is about using celebrities to ask the world to do something positive with the extra day they’ve earned with Leap Year. The idea is about asking everyone to do absolutely nothing for one day. By not taking a shower (water shortage), driving car (pollution), or shopping (factory pollution, car pollution, and waste), everyone will make a big difference.

Video:  Camera stays close up on celebrity #1 until their last line
and then pans back to reveal the celebrity is in bed. The
rest of the celebrities that follow are all in bed as they read
their line.

Celebrity #1: Leap Year is this year. So we all get one extra day
to do whatever we want. How am I gonna spend it?
I’m doing absolutely nothing.

Celebrity #2: I’m not going to work.

Celebrity #3: I’m not driving anywhere.

Celebrity #4: I’m not turning on the lights. Or the tube.

Celebrity #1: I’m doing nada. And by doing nothing, I’m actually
doing something. I’m doing my part. I’m conserving.
And it took me zero effort. It’s pretty awesome.
doing nothing today is just one small thing we can all
do to make a difference. But there are lots of other
small things we can do that will have a huge impact,
too. Make your extra day mean something. Visit
oneextraday.com for ideas.
